Stock Market Alert - TELK traded up over 14% on Friday to close the regular session at $6.25. The stock traded higher after reporting a narrower than expected Q4 loss, and also said that it expects lower expenses in 2007 due to staff cuts.

Stock Market Alert - UCTT had a very strong day on Friday, trading up over 15% to close the regular session at $16.65 after the company received an early morning upgrade from JPM. The stock, which had fallen earlier in the month after reporting their Q4 earnings, was upgraded from a neutral to an overweight by JPM. Volume was strong on the session, with over 2.1 million shares of the stock changing hands, compared to a normal daily average volume of just under 490k shares traded. As of the close of trading on Friday, UCTT had a market cap of just under $350 million dollars.

Stock Market Alert - GOOG dropped over 14 points on Monday to close the regular session at $467.16 after the company was forced to pull over a 100,000 videos from Youtube. Volume was a bit heavier than usual on the session, with over 7.2 million shares of the stock changing hands, compared to a normal daily average volume of just over 5.6 million shares traded. Investors were worried about the implications of this move, as they wonder how it will affect the cost of their investment in the popular online video sharing website if other companies ask to have their videos pulled.

Stock Market Alert - BDCO had a strong day on Monday, trading up over 9% to close the regular session at $3.48. Volume was heavy on the day, with over 430k shares of the stock changing hands, compared to a normal daily average volume of just over 175k shares traded. What was the reason for the move on Monday? I’m not 100% sure, but it appeared to me that some investors were positioning themselves in the stock for whatever reason. The stock is still far off of its 52 week high of $8.60, and currently has a market cap of just over $40 million dollars.

Stock Market Alert - NVTL had an extremely strong day on Monday, trading up over 11% to close the regular session at $12.52 after the company announced that it was raising its Q4 guidance. The company said that based on its preliminary results, it expects earnings of between 13-14 cents per share, higher than previous forecasts of 6-7 cents per share. The company also said that it now expects revenues for the quarter to come in at $76 million dollars, higher than analyst estimates of $62.5 million dollars. The company also said that it expects significantly higher earnings than previously expected throughout all of 2007.

Stock Market Alert - ZICA had a strong day on Friday, trading up over 16% to close the regular session at $2.40. Volume was extremely heavy, with over 2 million shares of the stock changing hands, compared to a normal daily average volume of just under 640k shares traded. There was no apparent reason for the move on Friday. Is there perhaps news upcoming for the stock? Did daytraders move into the stock in the Friday session? ZICA closed at $2.40 on Friday, which is about 45 cents under its 52 week high. ZICA closed with a market cap of $112 million dollars.

Stock Market Alert - ISRG had a very big day on Friday, trading up over 17% to close the regular session at $116.77 after the company reported their Q4 earnings and issued their outlook for the coming year. Volume was extremely heavy on the day, with almost 5 million shares of the stock changing hands, compared to a normal daily average of under a million shares traded. For Q4, the company announced earnings of 62 cents per share on revenues of $112.6 million dollars, higher than analyst estimates of 51 cents per share of earnings on revenues of $105 million dollars. For 2007, the company also forecast revenues of about $500 million dollars, higher than analyst estimates of $486.5 million dollars.
